Using proprietary gene knockout technology, Lexicon is systematically discovering the physiological and behavioral functions of 5,000 pharmaceutically relevant genes.  Through this initiative, known as the Genome5000™ program, we have identified and validated more than 100 drug targets in vivo, or in living animals, and created a unique, growing clinical pipeline.  All of our drug targets have been identified internally as part of our Genome5000 program.

• Ophthalmology:  glaucoma, retinal degeneration, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy
